An astonishing discovery was made in the land of pharaohs and pyramids. A series of photographs were sent to German newspaper BILD.de by a researcher named Gregor Spörri. The photos show a mummified finger that appears to be human, except for one major detail: its size. The finger measures 15 inches (45 centimeters) in length and would have belonged to a 16-foot-tall giant! That’s almost 5 meters tall, twice the size of the tallest man in the Guinness Book of Records. Could this finger be evidence that giants once lived in ancient Egypt? Where’s the rest of the giant’s body? Was it mummified as well?
Spörri came upon this rare find in 1988 while he was doing research in Egypt. He found out about an “old man from a grave robber dynasty” who had a very unusual object in his possession. Spörri paid $300 to have a look at the finger and take a few photographs. He tried to buy the finger but the old man wouldn’t sell it because it had been in his family for generations. Since then, Spörri tried to draw scientists’ attention to his finding but was met with skepticism. His unconventional artifact did not go well with the existing scientific theories. n 2009, he returned to Egypt in search of the old man and his prized possession but wasn’t able to trace him down. Stories of giants are abundant but scientists have always dismissed them as merely myths. There are multiple theories that claim that findings of giant skeletons or artifacts that prove giants once existed are actively suppressed as they would otherwise shake the foundations of science.
It seems this strange mummified finger is lost for now. Perhaps it will resurface in the future, giving scientists a chance to study it and offer a scientific answer to this age-old question: Did giants once walk the Earth?
